Moravian Falls Fire Department is a volunteer fire department dedicated to duty and service to the roughly 2,500 citizen’s to whom it protects. Founded in 1958, the department serves the community of Moravian Falls and surrounding communities of unincorporated Wilkes County.

The Moravian Falls Fire Department extends our deepest condolences following the loss of Durham Fire Department Firefighter Andrew Brokes.
Our hearts are with his family, friends, fellow firefighters at the Durham Fire Department, and the entire community he faithfully served. We mourn alongside our brothers and sisters in the fire service during this incredibly difficult time.
May Firefighter Brokes’ dedication, service, and sacrifice never be forgotten. Rest easy, brother. We’ll take it from here.

🔥 FIREPLACE SAFETY REMINDER 🔥
As cooler weather begins to settle into our community, many of us will soon be enjoying the warmth of fireplaces and wood stoves. Before you light that first fire of the season, take a few minutes to make sure your fireplace and chimney are ready.
Have your chimney inspected and cleaned regularly, watch for smoke or fumes entering your home, and never leave a burning fireplace unattended. Remember to keep children and pets a safe distance away and make sure the fire is completely extinguished before leaving your home or going to bed.
A warm home should also be a safe home. A few simple precautions can help prevent chimney fires, carbon monoxide emergencies, and devastating house fires.
