Become A Volunteer Firefighter

Moravian Falls residents, homes, and buildings are protected from the effects of fire by an all-volunteer fire department.

Approximately 70% of all fire departments in the United States are volunteer.
There are many reasons community members volunteer and become a member of a fire department. For some it is a way to give back to their communities, for others it is a way to meet friends and interact with a group of individuals who are motivated to come together to help one another.

Volunteering in a fire department is responding at all hours of the night and day to any number of emergencies. It’s the comradery that is built working side by side to complete a life-saving rescue, It’s the challenge of remembering how to cut a car apart or gain access to a burning home. It’s seeing your fellow humans at their worst and looking to you to help them through an event that forever will be in their memory. It’s training with others that challenges you and brings out the best in fellow firefighters. It is something you will never regret. The hours you dedicate to this most noble profession is dependent on the number of calls and training the district has each month. Who knows the training you receive may safe a loved one or yourself.
